New Story is a nonprofit that builds homes and communities for families living in survival mode around the world. They operate in communities otherwise known for natural disaster, gang violence and corruption, but they believe that home and land ownership can be a way out.

For the next Data for a Cause challenge, we are working with New Story to help identify groups in need of assistance and develop interactive, informative and intuitive data visualizations.
This time we are focusing on analysis and data visualizations created in D3/JS/Python and other open source libraries as it is New Story's preference. There are two tracks: data science and data visualization (or both!).
Do you want to show your data science skills? Want to try your hand in data visualizations tools outside Tableau and Power BI? Are you a D3.JS pro? This is your chance to shine!
August 27, 2018: Data for a Cause challenge begins. Challenge participants are the first to find out about it.
September 17, 2018: Submission deadline. Review of the entries by New Story begins. Once the review is complete, the winners are announced.
Update: this challenge is now complete.
